Intellectual property
The texts, photographs, logos, methods and teaching tools presented on this website (including the alphabet mat, letter trays, blue and red cards and alphabet cubes) are the property of Daarah ASBL. Any reproduction, even partial, is prohibited without prior written permission.
If a parent would like a photo of their child removed, simply write to us and we will remove it without delay.
Privacy
No cookies, no tracking. This website and the Daarah apps (daarah.be and the daarah.education subdomains) set no cookies (except the essential login cookie of Tronc commun family accounts, see below) and use no analytics or advertising tools. Some practice apps keep your progress only in your own browser (local storage): this information is never sent to us and you can delete it at any time from your browser.
Data you send us. If you contact us (email, phone, WhatsApp) or make a donation, we use your details and message only to reply, to follow up on your request or donation, and for our accounts. This data is never sold or shared. Data controller: Daarah ASBL (details above).
Retention. Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle your request; donation-related data for the legal retention period for accounting records.
Third-party services. Fonts, images and scripts are hosted on our own servers (daarah.education, at Hostinger): your visit sends no data to Google or any other service. YouTube videos and Google Forms only load if you click on them; YouTube and Google then process your data under their own privacy policies. If you write to us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's (Meta) privacy policy applies to that service.
Online payments (Stripe)
Provider. Online donations and payments (Bancontact, card, SEPA Direct Debit) are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland. Daarah never sees or stores your card or account number. For certain purposes, including fraud prevention, Stripe acts as an independent data controller: see its privacy policy.
Data received by Daarah. Name, email, amount, date and payment reference; for a monthly donation, the subscription status. Purposes and legal bases: recording the donation or payment and sending you a confirmation, managing the monthly donation (performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and keeping accounts (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)). Retention: the legal retention period for accounting records.
Payment cookies. Cookies needed for payment security are set by Stripe only on its payment page (checkout.stripe.com), when you choose to pay online. The daarah.be website itself sets none.
Family accounts and subscription (Tronc commun by Daarah)
Data collected. E-mail address and password of the parent or teacher (the password is encrypted: nobody can read it); date the terms were accepted, date of the request for immediate access and of the first use of full access (right of withdrawal); first name or nickname and level of each child; progress in the exercises (questions passed or not, mock exams, tracking of learning outcomes, material sheets made, the teacher's class tracking with the first names of the pupils); subscription plan, status and dates; Stripe customer reference. We never ask for a child's surname, date of birth or photo. The name typed to print the inspection file stays on your device.
Purposes and legal bases. Creating and protecting the account, saving progress across your devices and opening the content included in your plan (performance of the contract, Art. 6.1.b GDPR); managing the subscription and its invoicing (contract and legal obligation, Art. 6.1.c); producing overall statistics, only as totals with no personal data, to improve the content (legitimate interest, Art. 6.1.f).
One essential cookie only. When you log in, the "dz_tronc" cookie keeps you logged in for 30 days. It is strictly necessary for the service you request: it is not used for analytics or advertising and therefore needs no consent.
Hosting and recipients. The data is stored on our servers at Hostinger (see "Hosting"), outside the public part of the website. Payments go through Stripe (see "Online payments"). Nobody else has access; the data is never sold or used for advertising.
Retention. As long as the account exists. You can delete it yourself at any time ("My account" → "Delete my account"): the account, the children and all progress are then erased immediately and permanently. An account unused for 3 years is deleted after a warning e-mail. Accounting records related to payments are kept for the legal period.
Pre-registration and registration (Arabe Ludique)
Data collected. The parent's name, phone, email and municipality; the child's first and last name, date of birth, languages spoken and level; chosen group, registration-fee payment status, photo consent and acceptance of the contract.
Purposes and legal bases. Handling pre-registration and registration, organising groups, communicating with families and performing the registration contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); publishing workshop photos only with the parent's consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which can be withdrawn at any time; keeping accounts (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)).
Processor. The forms and responses are hosted by Google (Google Forms and Google Drive) under its customer data processing terms; some data may be processed outside the European Union with the safeguards provided by the GDPR (European Commission standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework).
Retention. Pre-registration not followed by registration: deleted after 12 months. Registration file: the school year plus one year. Accounting records: legal retention period.
Your rights. Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction or erasure of your data, restriction of processing, or object to it, by writing to daarah.asbl@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — dataprotectionauthority.be.
